Application of Plate Heat Exchangers in Heating

With the development of the plate heat exchanger field, many cities are now using plate heat exchangers for their heating equipment. Plate heat exchangers are currently the most widely used heat exchangers. Below we introduce the use of plate heat exchangers for central heating.

Here is the content list:

  • Existing problem

Notes for choosing the model

For symmetrical flow channels, the primary heat media flow rate is about 50% of the secondary heat media flow rate, then the convective heat transfer coefficient between the fluid and the plate in the primary heat media flow channel is about 70% of that in the secondary heat media flow channel. Therefore, when the primary and secondary side of the media flow is larger, it is appropriate to use an asymmetric plate heat exchanger. In general, the cold fluid and hot fluid in the plate on both sides of the interface of the convective heat transfer coefficient determines the size of the plate heat exchanger surface heat transfer coefficient, and less than the cold, hot convective heat transfer coefficient in the smaller one. In order to give full play to the heat transfer performance of the plate heat exchanger, should be cold, and hot fluid, and the convective heat transfer coefficient between the two sides of the interface of the plate appropriate to improve.

Existing problems

In the centralized heating system, the circulating water in the heat network is mainly tap water and deep well water, which is hard and produces precipitates in the pipe network when the water reaches the boiling point. As the plate heat exchanger circulation interface is small, the flow rate between the plates will be lower, and the precipitates are easy to form scale on the hot side or suspended in the circulating water and then deposited on the surface of the heat exchanger, forming a secondary scale. This will affect water quality and cause heat exchanger scaling blockage. As the thermal conductivity of the dirt layer is very low, greatly increasing the heat transfer thermal resistance, to a certain extent reduces the heat transfer efficiency of the heat exchanger. When the surface of the plate heat exchanger with scaling layer formation, will reduce the flow area of the equipment, increase the resistance of fluid flow through the equipment, and then consume more pump power, bringing unnecessary cost waste. In general, according to the different mechanisms of deposition of the scale layer, the fouling can be divided into crystallization, corrosion, chemical, biological and other fouling. In addition, during the construction of the heating pipe network, due to improper management or environmental impact, some impurities will inevitably enter the pipe network, such as welding slag, some debris, garbage, mud and sand, stones, woven fabrics, etc. left behind during the construction of the pipe.

Although there are many problems with the plate heat exchanger, the plate heat exchanger is still the most widely used product on the market today. With safe use and regular maintenance, the life of a plate heat exchanger can be greatly extended. If you have a need for or are interested in plate heat exchangers, you can look at Shanghai Jiangxing Chemical Equipment Co.Led.
