Do You Know About Welded Plate Heat Exchangers?

Publish Time: 2023-06-16     Origin: Site

As the application areas of heat exchangers become more and more widespread, the possibility of coming into contact with heat exchangers in our daily life has increased greatly. It is also very beneficial for us to know a little about heat exchangers.

Here is the content list:

  • History

  • Design parameters

  • Structure Principle

History

The detachable plate heat exchanger cannot be applied in process situations where high temperature, high pressure, and strong corrosive media are exchanged due to their own structural characteristics. With its design and structural advantages, the welded plate heat exchanger has effectively solved these problems and greatly broadened the application area of plate heat exchangers. Driven by the strong market demand, the new technology of plate heat exchanger - welded plate heat exchanger came into being. It has a corrugated plate structure similar to the detachable plate heat exchanger and adopts TIG welding all-metal seal without any non-metal parts inside, which has greatly improved the performance in temperature resistance, pressure bearing, and corrosion resistance.

Design Parameters

As the welded plate heat exchanger is the structure of the whole stainless steel or titanium plate and other alloys, there are no non-metallic sealing gaskets such as rubber inside. The design working pressure is: vacuum - 8.2MPa, the design temperature is: -196 ~ 538 ℃, and the heat exchanger plate, and seal material can be selectively provided titanium plate Ti, nickel plate Ni, and Hastelloy, etc. to improve the corrosion resistance of the heat exchanger and application capabilities. Welded plate heat exchangers can provide a single heat exchange area of 0.2 ~ 1500m² up to more than 30 types of specifications.

Structure Principle

The fully welded plate heat exchanger starts with two corrugated metal plates welded around the perimeter to form a heat exchange plate pair and a heat exchange channel on one side. A sealing metal strip is then added between the two pairs of plates. A specific number of heat exchanger plate pairs are welded together to form a heat exchanger nucleus with a certain number of heat exchanger plates and heat transfer area, with external clamping baffles and bolts for fastening, and after welding the inlet and outlet pipes, it becomes a heat exchanger with high temperature and pressure resistance and strong corrosion resistance. First of all, the heat exchanger plates are highly efficient corrugated plates, the heat exchange medium is in a highly turbulent state between the heat exchange channels, and the heat transfer efficiency is high. The channel volume is small, which is conducive to achieving strict control of the heat exchange temperature without residual media inside the heat exchanger. With the same heat transfer load, the heat transfer area is a smaller, very small footprint, saving space and capital investment. Secondly, the heat exchanger's hot side and cold side use the full counter-flow heat exchange form, you can get less than 1 ℃ end temperature difference, the maximum use of energy.

The above is some knowledge about the welded plate heat exchanger. Hope it will help you to choose a heat exchanger in the future.
