Do You Know About Finned Tube Heat Exchangers?

Publish Time: 2023-05-05     Origin: Site

With the popularity of heat exchangers, more and more people are coming into contact with this chemical original. However, at present, we can also see the shadow of heat exchangers everywhere in our lives. Here we will briefly introduce a heat exchanger - finned tube heat exchanger.

Here is the content list:

  • Working Principle

  • Structural Improvement

  • Maintenance measures

Working Principle

High-frequency welded finned tube, as an energy-saving heat exchange element, is a new type of wear-resistant heat exchange material. It adopts a high-frequency welding manufacturing process to heat the steel tube and steel strip together and uses high-frequency power as the heat source to make them fused together to form a whole. Its characteristics are a high heat exchange rate, large heat dissipation area, long service life, a wide range of applications, and strong pressure resistance. The heat transfer area of high-frequency welded finned tubes is several times to dozens of times that of bare tubes, which can enhance heat transfer and reduce resistance to movement. In the welding process, high-frequency current is first used to generate resistance heat inside the high-frequency welded finned tube workpiece to heat the surface of the finned tube heat exchangers to a near plastic or molten state, and then top forging pressure is applied or not. It is a solid phase resistance welding method, which makes the metal completely bonded. High-frequency welding can be divided into induction high-frequency welding and touch high-frequency welding.

Structural Improvement

High-frequency welded finned tubes can enhance heat transfer, reduce metal consumption and resistance to movement, and thus improve the economy and operational reliability of the heat exchanger. The reason why the characteristics of finned tube heat exchangers are so great is actually that the structure of high-frequency welded spot tubes has been improved during the design and manufacturing process. It is itself a finned tube wrapped around a finned tube to ensure the strength of the combination of tube and fins and uses a high-frequency welding process to weld thin plates inside the tube, thus having the advantages of high heat transfer power, large heat dissipation area, and long service life.

Maintenance measures

Check the sealing surface of the tube bundle of the finned tube heat exchanger for leaks. If there is leakage, tighten the screws appropriately and plug the tube box. If it still fails, it is necessary to replace the screw blockage or gasket. When replacing the gasket or screw fastener, stop and prevent the air medium. When the end of the finned tube leaks, allow the pipe to expand, the number of times should not exceed. Note that when the finned tube can not be expanded after repair, it should be replaced. It can be plugged with metal plugs as a temporary measure. If it is necessary to check the surface of the tube bundle, lay a wooden or rubber sheet on the finned tube to avoid damaging the fins. If the aluminum fins are knocked down, a tool is required to straighten them. Periodically remove fin dirt to maintain cooling capacity and reduce air resistance, and clean with pressurized water or compressed steam.

This is a brief introduction to finned tube heat exchangers and how to maintain them later. Only with proper maintenance can the service life of the heat exchanger be greatly extended. I hope this article will help you to use the heat exchanger.
