Do You Know About Brazed Plate Heat Exchangers?

Publish Time: 2023-04-17     Origin: Site

The brazed plate heat exchanger was first used in refrigeration units in the 1970s. Compared with the traditional shell and tube heat exchanger, it has very obvious development advantages, and many developed countries are competing to participate in the research and development. After decades of development, brazed plate heat exchangers are mainly used in air conditioning and refrigeration, heating and heating, chemical industry, metallurgy, machinery, electric power, paper making, textile, food, waste heat recovery, and other industries, among which the most widely used in air conditioning and refrigeration, heating, and heating industry.

Product Features

Brazed plate heat exchangers have strong pressure resistance. Brazed plate heat exchangers are firmly welded together at the contact points between the plates to ensure that it has the pressure resistance of a pressure vessel, the thinner plates can also withstand greater loads, and the design pressure range can be from vacuum to 14.0 MPa. it has high heat transfer efficiency. At present, the thickness of the brazed plate heat exchanger plate is generally 0.3 to 0.4mm, and the cold and hot media are fully approached under the thin plate so that the heat transfer efficiency of the plate heat exchanger is further improved and ultra-low temperature difference heat transfer becomes possible. The brazed plate heat exchanger has a compact structure and a small footprint. Unlike other plate heat exchangers, brazed plate heat exchangers have a folded edge around the heat exchanger plates for mutual positioning, and the brazed plate heat exchanger plates are welded to each other, eliminating the need for non-metallic washers, fastening bolts, guide bars, and frames, making the brazed plate heat exchanger more compact, but not removable.

Assembly process

Adjacent plates are assembled by rotating and stacking 180°, and a brazing material of comparable size is placed between every two plates, and then the group of plates with brazing material is fixed and heated in a vacuum heating furnace. The brazing material melts at high temperatures, and the liquid brazing material adheres to the contact points of the two adjacent plates due to capillary action and then cools down so that the brazing material cools down and many solid welding points are formed between the plates. During the welding process, the contact point between every two plates becomes the welding point, so that after welding, two or more independent flow channels can be formed in the heat exchanger. To ensure the welding quality of the contact points, the brazed plate heat exchanger requires higher precision of the plates, and the deviation of the plate corrugation depth should be generally controlled within 0.05mm.

Development status

At present, there are many companies producing brazed plate heat exchangers in the world. These enterprises have a long history, and a high degree of automation in the manufacturing process and the products have been mass-produced, producing a full range of products, a high degree of standardization, and flexible types. In recent years, with the improvement of China's economic strength and the rapid development of the petrochemical and steel industries, the demand level for brazed plate heat exchangers has also risen significantly.

There are many domestic companies with high development momentum at present. Among them, Shanghai Jiangxing Chemical Equipment Co. Ltd. produces many heat exchanger products with high quality. If you have a need for a brazed plate heat exchanger, you can consult this company.
